CGHS WELLNESS CENTRES IN ANDHRA PRADESH
763. SHRI MASTHAN RAO BEEDA:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) The details of criteria fixed for selection of cities under CGHS;
(b) The details of CGHS Wellness Centres presently functioning in Andhra Pradesh;
(c) The details of CGHS Wellness Centres that have been established in the State during the last three years;
(d) Whether Government proposes to establish CGHS Wellness Centers in the Tier-2 cities of Andhra Pradesh; and
(e) If so, the details thereof, and if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER

(a) to (e) As per extant norms, a minimum number of 6000 Central Government serving employees residing in a city is required for opening of a new CGHS Wellness Centre. Government considers opening of new CGHS Wellness Centres as per extant norms, subject to availability of resources and creation of posts with the approval of Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. There are six Wellness Centres in Andhra Pradesh, out of which, one was opened in 2017-18 at Visakhapatnam and five postal dispensaries at Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Guntur and Nellore, were taken over in 2019-20. The Wellness Centres are established as per extant norms of CGHS.
