Sub: Observance of two minutes silence on 30th January (Martyr’s Day) in the memory of those who sacrificed their lives during struggle for India’s freedom.

Please find enclosed a copy of Ministry of Home Affairs letter No. 2/1/2022-Public dated 7th January 2022 on the above subject.
In this connection, it is requested that as per para 2 of the above mentioned letter, certain instructions have been laid down for observance of ‘Martyr’s Day’ which may be strictly adhered to.
As per para 3 of the letter, MHA has reiterated that while two minutes silence is observed in some offices, the general public goes about its occupation in ordinary course, unmindful of the solemnity of the occasion. Therefore, instructions may be issued that the ‘Martyr’s Day’ is observed with due solemnity and that Talks/Speeches on freedom struggle, national integration are organized in a hybrid manner.
In view of the above, it is requested that the Martyr’s Day is observed in accordance with the instructions/ guidelines laid down in the enclosed letter of MHA. A feedback in this regard may also be shared by way of photographs, videos etc.
It may also be ensured that the Guidelines and (Standard Operating Procedures) SOPs issued from time to time regarding COVID-19 are strictly adhered to while observing Martyr’s Day.
