Subject: Regarding Functioning of Post Offices in Delhi Circle
Dear Sir/Madam
This is in continuation of this office letter of even No. dated. 10.06.2020. 17.07.20) and 24.07.2020 vide which the guidelines for functioning of Post Offices were issued. Keeping in view the increased number of footfalls in Post Offices it is decided that the Post Offices shall be functional under normal working hours as follows w.e.f 04.08.2020:-
(i) All Single and Double handed Post Offices shall be functional for five days in a week (Monday to Friday). On Saturday, sanitisation/fumigation may be carried out.
(ii) For other Post Offices (except single and double handed), there will be two sets of POs. First set of Post Office shall be functional on all working days except 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month and second set of Post Office shall be functional on all working days except 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. All the counter and delivery work will be undertaken. The Unit Head should ensure roster for attendance of the staff as per the requirement/need basis for counter operation and for delivery work odd and even basis on alternate day to adhere to preventive measures and social distancing norms to contain the COVID-19 for the staff and the public, issued from time to time. On Saturday sanitisation may be carried out.
(iii) The HOUs will prepare the roster for opening of Post Offices on Saturdays and furnish list to the undersigned by 04.08.2020.
(iv) No common drinking water point is allowed and cleaning of wash roams thrice a day be ensured.
(v) No canteen should be functional and no lunch and tea in group.
