Sub: Identification of various posts coming under Ministerial and Isolated categories as suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in compliance of the RPWD Act, 2016.
Ref: (i) Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD)’s notification no. 38-1 6/2020-DD-III dated 04.01.2021 .
(ii) Board’s letter no. E (NG) II/2017/RC-2/1 Policy dated 16.02.2018. (iii) Board’s letter No. E(NG)II/2017/RC-2/1 Policy dated 27.02.2019. (iv) Board’s letter no. E(NG)II/2024/RC-2/13 dated 05.11.2024.
(v) Board’s letter of even no. dated 29.01.2025.
Please refer to Board’s letter cited above under reference no. (v). In supersession of the same, following instructions are issued. Vide DEPwD’s notification dated 04.01.2021 the list of posts suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as existing in various Ministries / Departments etc., as mandated by the RPWD Act, 2016 was circulated.
2. The lists of various posts identified suitable on Railways was last circulated vide Board’s letter dated 27.02.2019. Keeping in view the fact that functional requirements of the common category posts of teaching/school Staff and Librarians are similar to those mentioned in the list notified vide DEPwD notification mentioned above, it has been decided to adopt the disabilities as identified by DEPwD w.r.t. above posts for the corresponding categories on the Railways. The list of the Railways’ posts is enclosed herewith. The provisions of Board’s letter no. E(NG)II/2024/RC-2/13 dated 05.11.2024 may also be kept in view. Further the provisions as mentioned in note 6 as well as other notes under DEPwD’s notification dated 04.01,2021 may also be kept in view. All the Railways / Railway Recruitment Boards are requested to take cognizance of the same in view of ongoing recruitment process.
