Sub: Permission to retain Railway accommodation at the place of previous posting by Railway officers going on deputation to Rail Energy Management Company Ltd. (REMCL).
Attention is invited to Board’s letters of even number dated 31.12.2020 and 21.12.2022 conveying the decisions of full Board regarding retention of one Railway quarter in Delhi for use of Railway officer on deputation to REMC Ltd.
2. On consideration of a request received from REMCL and in exercise of the powers vested in it to make reasonable relaxations in public interest for a class/group of employees, in all or any existing provisions regarding house allotment/retention, the Full Board have decided that REMCL may retain one Railway quarter in Delhi for use of Railway officers on deputation to their organization for a further period of two years beyond 31.12.2023 1.e. up to 31.12.2025 subject to the condition that in place of payment of amount equivalent to HRA and licence fee to the concerned Railway, REMCL would provide lease accommodation to the officer of concerned Railway, in lieu of the Railway quarter retained, as the officer’s choice according to Railway priority list, at the rate of lease entitlement of corresponding grade of officer of their organization.
3. However, if leased accommodation is not being utilized by the Railways, an amount equivalent to the lease entitlement or HRA of the officer retaining the accommodation, whichever is higher, may be deposited with the concerned Zonal Railway by REMCL.
4. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
